The printer would just hold the extruder temperature to that point.

Worse case the Host turned on the temperature (the user did) and did not turn it off, but that would be no different than running a very long print job. It will make the printer go crazy sometimes and run the print head lower than the bed and then try to move the bed and or run the print head into the bed in the middle and not stop and gears grinding and noises galore. Is there a definitive answer to the USB connection on the Wanhao i3 Ive read lots about people having trouble with it, others talk about changing a jumper setting to resolve the issue and yet more people suggesting that it was never intended to be used (I may have misunderstood that). The max temperatures and drive strengths are in the firmware and firmware eprom settings. I would really love to get Repetier Host running since I can monitor it remotely and I don't have to move the SD card constantly.

But anything else I try print that I download, most of the time fails. Wanhao Duplicator 4S is the latest update to Wanhao Duplicator 4x. I've opened one of the included files on the SD card into Cura and saved the profile. Also under features/z probing, enable probe pullup resistor as you are using a NO switch as a probe.

If I print something from Thingiverse, it will print correctly only OCCASIONALLY. In config tool under mechanics/endstops, try using homing order X Y preheat then Z, this will open up some more options to set, mainly the X Y coords where Z homing will go to, set it to X100 Y100. If I print something from the included SD card, it will print correctly MOST OF THE TIME. Instead of making that post any bigger I wanted to seperate the question about config files. I'm having nothing but problems printing that I detailed in another post.
